Paul Reyes, a resident of the L Streets, will run for the District 10 seat on the Dallas City Council, which represents the Lake Highlands area.
Jerry Allen, who has represented District 10 the past eight years, is ineligible for another term.
Last week we wrote about a potential candidate, Adam McGough, though his run is yet unofficial.
Reyes enjoys the support of former councilman Alan Walne, who also owns Herbs Paint & Body shop.
“His business experience, commitment to service and knowledge of our community make him the best candidate to serve the families and businesses in our neighborhoods,” Walne notes.

Reyes and his wife Claire have two daughters who attend St. Patrick Catholic School. Paul is a block captain for the L Streets Neighborhood Association and previously served on the board for both the White Rock Valley Neighborhood Association and Town Creek Homeowners Association. Paul serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of Associa, the largest residential realty management firm in North Texas with more than 9,000 employees. He is also President of AssociaTitle, Associa’s full-service title company. Before moving to Dallas, Paul worked for State Senator John Carona’s legislative office in Austin as an aide, committee director and legal counsel. His leadership was critical to the approval of legislation improving the quality of life in District 10, including strengthening zoning guidelines to keep sexually oriented businesses from operating in inappropriate areas.
Paul is a member of the Lake Highlands Exchange Club, Lake Highlands Chamber of Commerce and Serra Club. He previously served as a board member of the White Rock YMCA. He coaches youth basketball at the Lake Highlands YMCA and is a mentor in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Mentor2.0 program. He and his family are active members of St. Patrick Catholic Church.
