The first day of December typically marks the last chance to donate clothes and backpacks to the Richardson ISD Clothes Closet. But this year, the volunteer-run nonprofit — sponsored by RISD and the RISD Council of PTAs to assist students in the district lacking sufficient clothing — has received such a high demand for winter coats that it will continue to receive donations through Dec. 15. Specifically, RISD students are in need of clean, like-new jackets, coats, gloves, mittens, scarves, and hats, sized to fit preschool children through adolescents.
