Dallas Running Club 15k canceled due to ‘trail damage’

Dallas Parks and Recreation department called off the The Dallas Running Club’s Saturday race, The Loop 15k, due to damage to the trails in yesterday’s storms.

“At this time, there are no plans for a make-up event,” DRC president Kyle Willis says.

Thursday’s storm wreaked havoc on our neighborhood, taking down trees and power lines and leaving thousands without electricity.

Last summer we spoke to city arborists, following a much less intense storm, about what causes trees to topple in bad weather.
