Robison, a country singer/songwriter known to many as ex-husband of Dixie Chicks’ Emily, is decidedly Texan. His first solo album, Bandera, dropped in 1996 and he’s been singing about (and beloved in) the Lone Star State ever since. His newly released album, Beautiful Day, follows up his big hit, Good Times.

The 4th annual Oktoberfest will be held Saturday, October 4 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Lake Highlands Town Center. This family-friendly event will feature entertainment throughout the day, including performances from various Lake Highlands student groups, and a Kids Zone open from 11-6. A variety of food and beverages will be available for purchase.

Daytime admission is $5 for adults and children, and $10 after 6 p.m. Parking is free.

Oktoberfest is the Exchange Club’s largest annual fundraiser, with all proceeds returning to the community through college scholarships, child abuse prevention (Family Compass), medical and dental care for the needy (Healing Hands Ministries) and programs to honor local police, fire, military, teachers and youth.
