Parents seeking out an alternative to public education for their children will soon have a new option this fall.
Fusion Academy, a private, for-profit, college-prep middle and high school with locations on the East and West coasts will open its first two locations in Texas next month. One of those schools will be located at The Shops at Park Lane.
Area demographics and the quantity of private schools, along with “the prevalence for families to send their students to private schools…showing that people are open to other options,” attracted Fusion Academy to Dallas, Peter Ruppert, CEO and founder told Dallas Business Journal last month.
The school will offer classes year-round, using a one-to-one model of instruction with a more college-type schedule, according to Dallas Morning News. The school sets out to attract homeschool students seeking higher education courses, or students who have had issues with bullying and adapting curriculum to learning disabilities.
Students will also have access to tutoring, a homework center, and therapeutic services. But all of that one-to-one attention comes with a cost: Full-time tuition runs around $35,000-$42,000 a year per student.
