Thai Opal replaced Ginger Thai, and why you should go there this weekend

Thai Opal is located on Skillman near Abrams

I liked Ginger Thai Express, located on Skillman, behind Mariano’s restaurant.

But its recent replacement, Thai Opal is enjoying a warm reception from neighborhood residents. We’ve received multiple e-mails urging us to try it out, for its fresh produce and exceptional curry and pad Thai, to name a few.

A quick look at Yelp shows the place has received several rave reviews in the few months since opening. The new owners have revamped the interior and the menu.

They also recently installed a credit card machine. In the early days, they only accepted cash.

It’s BYOB, so If you want to drink, bring your own wine or alternative B. Below, some photos from helpful Yelper John H. Click on image for slideshow view:

We had the Oriental chicken last night. It was delicious.

I also liked Ginger Thai, but Thai Opal is better. The food is still delicious, and the atmosphere is much nicer now.
