Just a few months after expanding inventory to cater to urban gardening clientele, T. Hee Greetings & Gifts in Hillside Village at Mockingbird and Abrams is closing its doors for good come July 31.

Last year the Lake Highlands-based gift store shuttered its third location in Preston Center after just three months of business. With the closing of the four-year-old Hillside Village location, T. Hee’s original location on Walnut Hill and Audelia is the last man standing, so to speak.

T. Hee explains the decision to close the Hillside Village location in this blog post. Essentially, co-owner David Farris returned to full-time work, leaving business partner Tony Doles to operate both locations by himself. As a result, the business partners “decided it was best to consolidate to one store instead of continuing to run Tony into the ground managing two separate locations.”

The good news is that there will be some pretty sweet deals to score at the Hillside location — heck, even the fixtures will be on sale.

T. Hee’s lease at Hillside Village is up July 31, but they say if they run out of things to sell they may close a week or so before that.

But avid T. Hee shoppers need not worry that the Lake Highlands store will close any time soon.

“As long as our loyal customers continue to shop locally and support the neighborhood stores, we should be golden,” owners say.
