SpinFest via Facebook

Next Saturday jugglers, hula hoop artists, clowns, mimes, acrobats and other so-called circus freaks gather at SpinFest in Eastside Plaza in Richardson. Frequently at SpinFest, open to the public the third Saturday of every month, you’ll find talented kiddos who’ve been featured in the Advocate. Take, for instance, Kameron Badgers, the knife juggling Wallace Elementary student. Or Jesse Patterson, the teenaged hula star.

“You don’t need to have any particular skill — just show up and come and play with us,” notes Badgers on his blog. “There is plenty of extra gear, and people are always ready to help you learn to juggle, hula hoop or anything else you want to try. If you have your own props or gear, bring it. If not, borrow something to try out …”

“SpinFest is at Eastside Plaza in Richardson (a shopping and residential complex at the northeast corner of Central Expressway and Campbell). We’re right in the middle — near Twisted Root Burger and 7-11, by the fountain.”

The next SpinFest is Saturday, June 17. It’s free from 3-7 p.m.
