On Sunday a woman in her mid-30s was found dead in the swimming pool at Forest Point Condominiums around 6 a.m. CBS DFW reports that neighbors saw the woman swimming prior to the incident. An autopsy report is currently underway to determine the cause of death.

Jose Torres, 36, was arrested Tuesday on charges of selling cocaine and methamphetamine at a gas station located near Walnut Hill and Wickersham. Dallas Morning News reports that police found 14 baggies of methamphetamine and crack cocaine in Torres’ vehicle.

A mistrial was declared Wednesday when a jury failed to reach a verdict in the trial of one of the two men accused of robbing and killing an elderly Dallas woman in her White Rock-area home last year. Daniel Brooks, 28, “would have faced life in prison without the possibility of parole if convicted of capital murder in the slaying of 79-year-old Avanell Cowgill,” DMN reports. No date has been set for a retrial. Meanwhile, David Herron, the other man arrested in connection to the crime, faces a sentence of two to 20 years for his role in Cowgill’s murder.
