Wranglers-Parade_2Lake Highlands’ Wildcat Wranglers boot scooted out of town over the weekend to officially mark the start of the 76th annual Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

To the delight of thousands lining downtown Houston streets, they flipped and twirled in Saturday’s Rodeo Parade, one of Houston’s most popular annual celebrations.

While there they took a cultural excursion to LaPorte, where students toured Battleship Texas, now a national historic landmark. Students noted that the Texas is the only battleship still in existence that fought in both World War I and World War II.

Next, the Wranglers headed to Galveston for an afternoon on the beach and an evening of fun on the Island’s historic Pleasure Pier.
