State District Judge Ernest White has set Cesar Benitez’s sentencing date for 9 a.m. March 3 in the 194th Judicial District Court, according to the Dallas News. The three women who were attacked by Benitez will testify at the sentencing hearing.
Doctors Hospital White Rock Lake has been nominated as one of the Healthiest Employers in 2014 by Dallas Business Journal. The ranking of the 46 winning companies will be announced at a luncheon and health fair March 20, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Hyatt Regency Dallas.
Republican state Rep. Jason Villalba, who represents Preston Hollow, North Dallas and Lake Highlands, “has urged his party’s candidates for lieutenant governor to ‘acknowledge the humanity’ of unauthorized immigrants who are seeking to better themselves economically,” Dallas Morning News reports. In an open letter about immigration rhetoric, Villalba criticized four lieutenant governor candidates’ remarks about immigration during their Jan. 27 televised debate.
