Eat breakfast and run a 5k all at once at the Hypnotic Donut Dash, this Saturday.

Here’s a 5k even the most reluctant runner can enjoy: Hypnotic Donuts presents the Donut Dash 5K, this Saturday at Fair Park. The timed run will start and finish inside the heated Centennial Building, plus there will be three donut-hole stations along the course. After the run, party down with a Chubby Bunny contest (people stuffing their faces with donut holes), a DJ, live music, and free food and beer. Race fees are between $28 and $40 depending on when you register, or pay $15 to join the party without breaking a sweat. The event is accepting cash and other donations in support of the Birthday Party Project, a Dallas nonprofit that gives homeless children a party to celebrate their special day (and have some sprinkle-y treats of their very own.)

Through Saturday, see the final days of the following art exhibits at Bath House Cultural Center (the center is open from noon- 6 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday and though the exhibits are free, a $20 donation is requested):

  • “Forest, Feathers, and Fur,” features acrylic paintings by Roxanne Mather, which beautifully portray animals, birds, and other creatures that live and thrive around White Rock Lake.
  • “Mechanical Soul: Steampunk Style in Contemporary Art,” explores some of the elements and styles that are aligned with the aesthetics, design, and characteristics that are commonly associated with steampunk art. Per the Bath House website, “Steampunk art combines ideas and technology from modernity and the future with those from the past…set in Victorian and/or American Old West time, when steam was the major source of machine power.”
  • “Collaging Art Exhibition” Artists Dwayne Carter, Randall Garrett, Julia McLain, David McCullough, Devin McCullough, and Manuel Pecina present works in a wide range of media, including painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, and digital technology.
