Mainstream news outlets and fringe bloggers alike are reporting the sightings of UFOs over California overnight New Year’s Eve. “We saw it right through the trees. It was bright enough to shine directly through the trees without any problem seeing it,” one man told the ABC affiliate.
“I seen like six bright orange colored lights,” another witness related.
And apparently Cali was not the only place these red-orange orbs appeared.
“I don’t know what the [expletive] those things are,” says Jacob Chamberlain, whose You Tube video, shot a little after midnight Jan. 1 in Lake Highlands, shows something similar to what the folks in California saw.
Many commenters have identified the objects as Chinese lanterns.
Meanwhile in Sydney, Australia, a pilot reports a near miss with a “rugby ball shaped UFO.”
