Here’s what she reports from the tournament:

Senior TJ Grieder, Jordan Lockhart and Greg Everett; juniors Kap Lian, Connor Bosch, Reid Curnutt and Tyler Hughes and sophomore Jack Smitham went undefeated over the weekend.

What was suppose to have been a rebuilding year for the Lake Highlands varsity wrestling team has suddenly turned into a stellar year as the team has won 12 of 13 dual meets and two tournament championships.

When asked about the surprising progress of the team, coach Grieder’s response was, “ I am excited!  We just keep getting better and better. Having lost 10 starters from last year’s team to graduation, I wasn’t sure what we could do.  I am starting to figure out that these new guys really want to win!  The team is doing absolutely great and having fun doing it.”

Leading the team are five wrestlers that have a combined record of 71 – 5 — Grieder, Bosch, Curnutt, Kendrell Willis and Smitham.
