Lake Highlands Wildcats and Allen showdown at the Boneyard Friday night. It’s a “black out” game, so Wildcat fans should wear all black. Buy advance tickets Friday, 8:30 to 1:30. Adults pay $7 and students pay $4. If tickets are left at game time, all seats will be $10 at the gate.

It’s the last weekend to walk through the 27th annual Dia de Los Muertos exhibition at the Bath House Cultural Center, 521 E. Lawther, to view the work of more than 60 artists working in both traditional and contemporary styles to celebrate, explore and honor people, things and ideas that have “passed on.” The free exhibition closes Nov. 16. John Ajak began running when he was six years old in a war-engaged Sudan, picked up a gun at 11 years old, and finally came to the U.S. at age 20 in 2001 as part of the Lost Boys of Sudan. The Dallas Arboretum hired him shortly after he arrived as part of its horticulture staff, a job that he calls his therapy because the smiling faces of visitors and colleague. “Even though I’ve been in a hard place, they show me how to be happy.” John can add author to his list of accomplishments having just published “Unspeakable: My Journey as a Lost Boy of Sudan.” He will sign copies of his book on Nov. 16, from 1-3 p.m. at Dallas Arboretum’s Hoffman Family Gift Store. The book is $14.95.

The Nowhere but Texas art show continues this weekend at the Dutch Art Gallery and showcases 80 plus artists and some 150 works from around the state.
