Representatives of that district have said the required menus are too restricted and that students are trashing their food. The station contacted districts across Texas to see how each is handling the program.

According to Star Newspapers, Mesquite has “high hopes” for their football season, which starts with a game here at Wildcat Stadium against Lake Highlands tonight. Can’t survive on $7.25! That was the chant of fast food workers on strike today outside some Dallas-area McDonalds and Wendy’s stores. A group of fast-food employees are speaking out in an effort to raise minimum wage to $15 an hour and for the right to organize labor unions with impunity. I drove past multiple fast food restaurants in the Lake Highlands and White Rock areas this morning — Two McDonalds, Wendy’s, Jack … but saw nary a protest. Source: NBC
