Buy and sell goods from your East Dallas and Northeast Dallas (including Lake Highlands) neighbors via a new Facebook group, launched recently by resourceful Lake Highlands lady Dawn Quiett. The East Dallas, Northeast Dallas Exchange’s guidelines basically are similar to Craigslist’s, but in Quiett’s particular prose:

“Post things for sale—whatever you got—couches, beds, tables, clothes, toys, cars and the like.

Sellers: Items must have a set price, full description mentioning any flaws and a picture. Mention how you would like to be paid. Be available to answer any questions. When I say price, I mean a real price. Not that $1 scam stuff on craigslist.

Job Opportunities. (REAL ONES). The economy is tough. It would be great for people to help each other out. No jobs where the person would have to invest.

Have a service to offer? List away. Wanted-Looking for something? Ask away. (No loans or business investors.) Garage Sales should include all details-date, time, location. If you want to post pics of what you will have that would be awesome.

Neighborhood events-include all details-date, time, location and cost. If you don’t have those things I will delete your post.

Sellers must be East Dallas/Northeast Dallas residents.”

Quiett started the group, according to the group page, as a way for people to clean house and maybe make money. It’s not all that groundbreaking, she says. “There are sites like this for Oak Cliff and North Dallas so I am not really original.”

She notes that she is fed up with the bigger online classifieds. “Ebay is a hassle and gets pricey. Craigslist used to be good but now you get lots of spam where people ask if you want to crush their lives or porn.”
