Earlier this year, the police division that patrols Lake Highlands and surrounding areas launched a successful manhunt to get a suspected rapist off the Lake Highlands streets.

Now, unfortunately, they need to get another creep who has attempted to attack two women in the Richland College area, crimes we reported a couple days ago.

Deputy Chief Andrew Acord, with whom we held court for a June story, told a group at a community meeting last night that he would employ some of the same tactics — both for tracking down the perp and for keeping women safe — in this case.

In that vain, expect to see mounted police and helicopters in the neighborhood with more frequency.
