Chelsea BrownWhen she was seven, Chelsea Brown dressed up as a Baylor cheerleader for Halloween. Chelsea’s mom, Leigh Ann, graduated from Baylor, and the family visited the Waco campus often.

“At every college football game I’ve ever been to, all I would do was watch the cheerleaders,” Chelsea told me. “It’s so surreal to me that now I’m the person I used to look up to.”

“The best part so far has been all the friendships I’ve made,” said Chelsea, who’s gotten to know many of the girls already during the tryout process. “Football is always my favorite part of the cheer year, and I can’t wait to cheer on the Bears this fall.”

With Chelsea’s senior year at LHHS and her time as a Wildcat cheerleader complete, she admits she’ll miss her family and friends. “I think the hardest part will be balancing cheer, grades, and other extra-curricular activities.” Chelsea will major in nutrition, and she hopes to develop a private practice specializing in family, pediatric or prenatal nutrition.

Good luck, Chelsea!
