Police scour Hamilton Park area for suspect
3:30 p.m. Officer who was shot, Daniel Malouf, has been sent home from the hospital in good condition.
The suspect is inside 12300 Schroeder. SWAT has him surrounded.
Police from the northeast division reportedly chased and shot a man suspected of shooting his pregnant girlfriend, according to an NBC 5 report airing as I write.
The suspect led cop cars into the Hamilton Park area, which flanks Lake Highlands to the northwest.
The alleged shooting happened in the same neighborhood, police say.
The chase lead police through north Dallas and past NorthPark and back into the Hamilton Park neighborhood.
The Hamilton Park Pacesetter Magnet Elementary School has been locked down as a precaution.
At this juncture, police are still searching for the suspect, but some news outlets report that he is locked inside a home in Hamilton Park.
