meredith allowayMeredith Alloway loves movies. She enjoys the big-budget blockbusters of Hollywood and the independent film festival creations. She’s primarily worked as an actress, but she appreciates the work of the writers, directors and other off-screen talent that make the films possible.

Meredith, who graduated from Lake Highlands High School in 2007 but now lives and works in Los Angeles, has created an online interview show called “All the Way with Alloway.” For her first round of conversations, she traveled to the Sundance Film Festival to chat with world-famous (and some not-yet famous) writers and directors about what makes a great film great. You can see her many interviews on YouTube, including Drake Doremus (writer/director of “Like Crazy”) whose new movie “Breathe In” stars Felicity Jones and Guy Pearce; Sebastian Silva (World Cinema Directing Award recipient) whose new movie “Crystal Fairy” stars Michael Cera and Gaby Hoffmann; and Francesca Gregorini, whose new movie “Emanuel and the Truth About Fishes” stars Jessica Biel and Kaya Scodelario.

Meredith’s show is affiliated with TheScriptLab.com, a website which provides screenwriting education and entertainment resources. Meredith is senior editor for the website, and she also writes film and TV reviews and covers film festivals all over the country.

If Meredith looks familiar, you may have seen her onstage in LHHS Theatre performances or in Lake Highlands United Methodist Church’s ACT musicals. She earned a degree from SMU, where she was involved in numerous theatrical productions.

Coming up on All the Way with Alloway, look for Oscar coverage with multiple nominees and an interview with Matthew Quick, author of “Silver Linings Playbook.”

Atta-way, Alloway!
