Hoping to make some progress on that Christmas list but dreading the mall scene and Black Friday-style craziness? You can find unique gifts and shop in a relaxed, intimate atmosphere this Thursday as the Lake Highlands Women’s League opens their Holiday Market from 1-4pm.
The Market is part of their annual Holiday in the Highlands Home Tour, going on all day Friday, December 7th, but you can get a sneak peek Thursday afternoon and entry is free.
Offerings include jewelry, clothing, baby goods, home design and custom gifts, with vendors like Full of Grace Divine Designs, which sells custom jewelry made from antique and vintage medallions, and Bug’s Canopy, offering succulent arrangements, planters and terrariums. You’ll find hand-sewn pillows and décor at the Folk Art by Susan Avery booth, and Guatemalan hand-woven textiles and accessories at Beads and Baubles. Enchanted Frog Soaps will have homemade all natural bath and body products for the loved ones on your list, and we won’t tell if you go home with a few handmade semi-precious stone pieces from Petrini Jewelry for yourself. You’ll feel good about gifts bought from Sweetly Recycled – the one-of-a-kind glass ware is beautiful AND eco-friendly – and (if it ever gets cold) you’ll enjoy hand woven scarves from Tou Tov Nation.
You’ll find these merchants and many more at the market, located at Highland Oaks Church of Christ, 10805 Walnut Hill Lane between Plano Road and LBJ. While you’re there, pick up Home Tour tickets – the pre-sale price is $10, but they’re $15 Friday at the door. Happy shopping!
