Lake Highlands Juniors Katherine McCoy and Shane Bono this semester were awarded Optimist Club Young Texanne and Texan, respectively.
These Lake Highlands juniors received the Young Texan and Texanne awards.
Bono also is in the running for a college scholarship from the Richardson Optimist Club, which awards students based on recommendations from principals, counselors and teachers of students that have demonstrated outstanding character, leadership, and academic excellence.
