This year’s event takes place in the fall as opposed to the oft-blistering Dallas spring, which should make the air more comfortable, provided it doesn’t rain, and the bugs less profuse.

Then there’s the tunes part. The White Rock Lake Foundation this year commissioned the golden-eared Mike Schoder to book the bands, and the lineup includes myriad interesting and talented local acts — Somebody’s Darling, The Bird Dogs, The Fox & the Bird, Larry G(ee), Forgotten Space, Goodnight Ned, The Will Callers, J. Charles & the Trainrobbers and Salim and the Travoltas.

And finally, the trucks, as in food trucks — we’re talking Ssahm Korean Tacos, Crazy Fish, The Lab Food Truck, Doughboys Pizza Truck, CNJ Catering The Butcher’s Son, Gandolfo’s, Four Season’s Food Truck, Chili Pepper Grill, CupCakin — that’s not to mention the petting zoo, face painting, arts and crafts, all for just $5. Proceeds benefit White Rock Lake Foundation projects and improvements to White Rock Lake.

The festival is Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 10 and 11 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. respectively at Boy Scout Hill, White Rock Lake. After the jump, a lineup of the bands for your scheduling purposes.
