The Lake Highlands Town Center site will be abuzz with activity Sunday afternoon as Lake Highlands United Methodist Church hosts a community-wide event: Back to School Splash.

The concert and carnival will honor LH-area schools, teachers, principals and PTAs. Admission is free, but the $10 per car parking charge benefits Feed Lake Highlands, which supports the many families and children in our neighborhood in need. (Did you know that 63% of the students that attend LH schools are on the free or reduced lunch program?)

Activities will include water slides, pony rides, carnival games and a soccer shootout (among many others), and two bands will perform live to entertain the crowds. Radio’s KLTY 94.9 will be broadcasting live as well, and I’ll be there at the Advocate table to say hello and see what you think about the progress at the LH Town Center.

Best of all, nine food trucks will be serving up delicious goodies.

The event runs from 4-7 pm.
