Sure, we’ve been waiting years for Prescott Realty to make some big announcement about plans for the Lake Highlands Town Center, but at least our community has been making decent use of the acreage.

This time, it’s a back-to-school Splash hosted by Lake Highlands United Methodist Church featuring food trucks, festival booths — from water slides to pony rides — and live entertainment, all benefitting Lake Highlands schools.

The event is set for Sunday Sept. 9 from 4-7 p.m. at the town center, Skillman at Walnut Hill. It’s free, but $10 to park. That money will benefit the food distribution program, Feed Lake Highlands.

Organizers are inviting the neighborhood to get involved:

All public LH schools have a free booth to promote the school. Check with your PTA to find out how to help promote your school. Local businesses are invited to partner with schools. Sponsors, underwriters, school administrators and PTA presidents receive free parking passes and credentials.

For further sponsorship and booth information, contact Tonya Bredehoeft tonya@lhumc.com or 214.505.5298.
