This morning at about 8:50, I happened upon this crash involving Dallas County school buses at the corner of Royal Lane and Skillman. At least four school buses were stopped along westbound Royal Lane.

There were at least six police vehicles at the scene, along with a couple fire trucks and ambulances. I saw one person, who appeared to be an adult, carried off on a stretcher and the person appeared to be alive.

According to Dallas Fire-Rescue active incidents, 13 emergency vehicles responded to this “motor vehicle accident”.

Dallas-Fire and rescue spokesman Jason Evans  confirms that 60 students were on board the buses and that 17 students from Richardson ISD, grade 7-11, were transported to the hospital. He says the accident happened when one bus crashed into another. Police are investigating the cause.
