First phase of new Walnut Hill-Audelia development begins

Builder contact flyer First phase of new Walnut Hill Audelia development begins Razing of the long-vacated building at Walnut Hill and Audelia will begin Monday, and new homes could be built by spring 2012.

Trucks are already parked and ready to start tearing down the former WalMart in prep for the White Rock Place Addition project, one of the builders tells us.

As our Meghan Riney reported last summer, the 7-Eleven will stay, and the new ViewPoint Bank, My Office, the vet clinic and the former florist space and, of course, the strip that holds Highland’s Café and T. Hee will remain and everything else will go.

White Rock Place Addition, comprising 17 single-family homes by three different builders—Highland Classic Homes, Nobility Homes and New Leaf Construction—could be complete by April 2012, Highland Classic Homes’ Mark Dann tells us via e-mail last night, adding, “We will need the weather to cooperate to meet that dead line.”

“I can’t really tell you which ones are sold or not because I really don’t have that info,” he says, “but from the other builders … I think we are half sold out at this point.”
