Remember that September issue of Advocate where we featured all the adorable pets? Maybe it inspired you. If so, this weekend is the prime opportunity to find a furry new BFF at the East Lake Pet Orphanage Pet Fair. And, if you are already an owner, the 10th annual fair promises good times for you and yours too.

The pet party starts at noon and runs until 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13 at ELPO, 10101 E. Northwest Highway, 75238.

“The Pet Fair includes free admission, food, pet adoptions (real and stuffed animals), silent auction, prize drawings, micro chipping for pets; activities for children such as bounce house, teddy bear surgery, cake walk, Butt Sketch artist, a Dallas Cowboy Football watching party, Paws and Palm reading, and lots carnival games. Animal behavior specialists will be on hand as well as a variety of entertainment.

Richard Hunter, will serve as Master of Ceremonies. Hunter is a well-known Dallas DJ but also known for adopting one of Michael Vicks Pit Bulls, Mel. He was recently was awarded the John LaBella Award for his animal rescue work by East Lake Pet Orphanage.”
