Merriman Park Elementary PTA volunteers are preparing for their “Blue Jeans and Bling” fundraiser November 12th at Eddie Deen’s Ranch, featuring dinner, dancing and a live and silent auction to earn money for school programs. Last year’s event raised more than $60,000, and auction Co-Chairs Kristen Harris and Lana Marker are expecting a packed house draped in their Texas-style finery.

The MPE auction is famous for offering one-of-a-kind items, like the chance to spend an evening under Friday night lights as an LHHS Honorary Bell Boy, as Brooks Cohorn and Jake Carvajal did in this photo. The chance to make your child Principal for the Day is another hot item.

You can also bid on four tickets to the 2012 Cotton Bowl, a trip to Maui, 45-yard-line seats to Dallas Cowboys vs. Miami Dolphins on Thanksgiving Day or a week with the family on South Padre. Also available are Staycation packages at Hotel Zaza, the Fort Worth Hilton and the Anatole, along with a year of dining at Dallas’ best restaurants. An iPad 2, a Galaxy S Android, and other goodies are up for grabs as well.

Tickets to the 7 pm auction dinner are $40 per person, but you can attend the VIP reception at 6 pm when you buy the $125 per couple ticket. And, if you’re feeling lucky, raffle tickets are available (1 for $10, 6 for $50, 13 for $100), with the winner scoring $1000 in NorthPark Gold.

For more information about attending the event or donating an auction item, email Kristen Harris here or Lana Marker here.

In the photo: Bell Boys Hayden Bower, Ryan Mellinger, Mitch Winkler, and Chase Farris with Jake Carvajal and Brooks Cohorn before the LHHS vs. Berkner game on October 14th. The Honorary Bell Boys were treated to dinner with the guys at Primo Brothers Pizza before the game, then rode around LH neighborhoods ringing the bell. During the game they were on the sidelines at The Boneyard, cheering on the Cats and chatting with the cheerleaders.
