The beauties high-kicking at halftime may not be a day older than 18, but the Lake Highlands Highlandette drill team is 50 years old, and they’re planning a variety of events to celebrate their 50th year.

All former Dettes are invited to a Reunion BBQ for alumni and their families before the Homecoming football game October 7th. Tickets for this event can be reserved by emailing Susan Bradley here, and parents, husbands and children are welcome to attend.

If you were thinking South Padre for Spring Break, you just got an upgrade. The Dettes’ 50th Line will be performing on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship, and Dette alums and their immediate families are invited to set sail with them to St. Croix, St. Maarten, Antigua, St. Lucia and Barbados. The trip is March 11-18th, but you need to email Lisa Johnson here ASAP for more info and to reserve a spot.

The spring show always draws alums, but, in addition to special performances, this year’s Highlandette Revue weekend will feature a High Tea on Saturday, April 21st. Tickets for the show can be purchased at the door or online after April 15th on the Highlandette website here or by emailing Beth Heath here. To reserve your place at the tea, you can email Janet Young here or Pam Woodiel here.

For more information, you can join the Lake Highlands Highlandette Alumni Facebook page here or email Reunion Chair Patty Schimming here.
