So, the weather people are predicting clouds and possibly rain Monday, but they are wrong most of the time, no? (Actually, Pete Delkus once told me that they are usually just guessing until about 48 hours out, when they are able to make more accurate predictions.) Cloudy or sunny, Monday is a day not for working in a stuffy office but for playing golf and getting involved in the White Rock Centennial Celebration. From the organizers:

Tenison Park Golf Club today announced they will host a Centennial Golf Tournament sponsored by Kessler Collins for the Comerica White Rock Lake Centennial Celebration on April 4. The tournament will give golfers all over the city a chance to take part in the centennial celebration events.

“With the location of Tenison Park Golf Club on White Rock Creek, there is a special connection to White Rock Lake through the community here,” said Darren Boruff, co-chair of the Centennial Host Committee. “This tournament gives golfers an opportunity to work on their swing while raising money for White Rock Lake improvements.”

The format will be a four-person scramble with a $150 entry fee per participant. Entry fee includes green fees, cart, range balls, on-course refreshments, entry gift, lunch and raffle tickets for valuable prizes at the awards ceremony. All proceeds from the tournament will benefit the White Rock Lake Conservancy. The tournament will be held April 4 with a 1pm shot gun start. You can reserve your spot at www.whiterocklake.org
