I couldn’t stay long at the Comerica-sponsored Raise the Woof Pup Rally at the White Rock Dog Park, part of the White Rock Centennial celebration, because if I had, I would have gone home with three or four dogs, including a ginormous English Mastiff with whom I fell utterly in love. I felt like I was in the middle of that SPCA commercial where Sarah McLachlan sings to images of sad and wounded animals, only these pups were not injured — only longing for someone to love. Booo hooo.
The event helped to raise money for much needed White Rock Dog Park improvements, and, I hope, helped some pets find a permanent home.
