A new bar and burger joint called “goodfriend” will open next to Good 2 Go Tacos on Garland at Peavy in the former Texas Trap space. Matt Tobin who owns Vickery Park on Henderson plans to open the “artisan beer garden” in the spring. G2G owners Colleen O’Hare and Jeana Johnson will help out, cooking up “all kinds of crazy organic burgers to go with your ice cold beer”, according to their Facebook page.
Tobin told Teresa Gubbins at Pegasus News that he plans to open in April or May—he lives in the neighborhood and decided after the change in wet/dry laws to make the bar-burger (grass-fed beef, pretzel rolls, brioche, fries, potato salad and beans too) concept a reality.
