LHHS grad Taylor Mokate recently made his debut on the USA Rugby team
This week, LH’s Taylor Mokate was featured in a story in The Oklahoma Daily, OU’s campus newspaper. Taylor recently earned a spot on the USA Rugby National Team, The Eagles, and he played his first game with his new team at the 2011 USA Sevens Rugby Tournament Feb. 12-13 in Las Vegas.
Taylor is well-known on campus as the captain of the OU rugby team – heck, at 6’4” and 235 pounds with a head full of bright blonde hair he’s pretty hard to miss. Making it to this next level and playing for the national team brings Taylor one step closer to his dream of going to the Olympics in 2016.
Taylor was one of only 15 players in the nation to be invited to participate in the tournament this year, competing in matches against Japan and Uruguay. You can read the full story in the OU Daily online here.
