Lake Highlands resident and 11-year Richardson ISD board member Luke Davis joined us on the podcast today to talk about the proposed RISD bond election in May. He answered all kinds of questions:
How is it possible that a new $170 million bond program won’t raise the tax rate?
Can a bond program pay for teacher salaries? Band uniforms? Jerry Jones-esque jumbotrons?
How might the proposed state budget cuts affect RISD students and taxpayers? (For example, the Planetarium and RISD’s additional homestead exemption are options on the table.)
