On this week’s podcast, we discuss a couple of different approaches to strong disagreements. The first approach is based on a story editor Christina Hughes Babb wrote for December’s Advocate on White Rock Lake activist Ted Barker. Babb tells us about the thousands of emails that inspired her to write the story, and whether Barker’s methods have proved effective.

Another approach to disagreement is showcased in a story about Lake Highlands Advocate worship columnist George Mason and his friendship with Rabbi David Stern of Temple Emanu-El. The predicament of religious tolerance is discussed, and the “Hate Monster” we have referenced in prior podcasts comes up, as we discuss how it relates to religion, politics and even neighborhood zoning issues.

Stay tuned until the end for our shameless plugs: how rainboots relate to a daughter in Moldova, a neighborhood boutique staying open after hours for holiday shoppers, and a deal on Bikram yoga classes.
