A fire overnight gutted the Lake Highlands home of Jeff and Lisa Cordova, 10017 Faircrest at Trailcliff. Though the front façade still stands, the inside is a “black, mucky mess,” according to one of the many LH friends who’ve been by today to offer help.

The Cordovas and their pets are all safe, including former Wildcat cheerleader Stephanie and former Wrangler and wrestler Austin.  The cause of the fire is not yet known.

Since virtually everything was lost in the fire, friends have established a fund at the family’s church, Zion Lutheran, 6121 E. Lovers Lane, 75214. If you’d like to make a donation, you can send a check payable to Zion with Cordova on the memo line. Lake Highlands Estates Neighborhood Association is also collecting for the family. Items can be left on the porch of HOA President Jo Baggett, 10116 Estate Lane, 75238, or checks can be sent payable to LHENA.

Lisa, who was alone in the home at the time of the fire (Austin was at college, Stephanie lives in Uptown, Jeff was out of town), was awakened by a neighbor. She expressed gratitude to all who are working to help.
