This Friday in Lake Highlands will be one big day for one little boy. Forest Meadow 7th-grader Will Morgan will be the guest of honor at the LHHS pep rally and the Wildcat football game, and he’ll have his picture taken with the Varsity cheerleaders and the Wildcat mascot. It’s a moment you won’t want to miss.

When they learned about Will’s fight with cancer and his work to raise money for cancer research, the cheerleaders decided to donate all profits from their Red-Out t-shirt campaign to Will’s fund. They also created “Will to Win” t-shirts in his honor, which they’ll be wearing at the pep rally and selling at school. Varsity cheer captains Alexandra Burgin, Kali Kopf and Lauren Villanueva will be presenting an $1,800 check on behalf of the squad to Will at pre-game festivities this Friday.

Will was diagnosed about a year ago with Ewing’s Sarcoma, and his positive outlook and happy-go-lucky personality have inspired many and endeared him to all of LH. Will is planning to participate in the DFW CureSearch Walk for Children’s Cancer May 14 at Texas Motor Speedway, and the $1,800 he receives from the cheerleaders will get his fundraising started. If you’d like to learn more and/or make a contribution, you can view Will’s page here.

The pep rally begins at 1:50 pm at LHHS, and the Wildcats play the Richardson Eagles in the final game before playoffs Friday night at 7:30 pm. Go Cats, and Go Will!
