This Saturday morning, Arlington’s Vandergriff Park will be the site of the 2010 Regional Cross Country Championships.
Lake Highlands Senior Class President Meron Fessahaie, will be the top-seed out of District 9-5A as he finished the District Championship Meet one minute faster than anybody else.
Fessahaie will lead the Wildcats boys team which finished second at the district meet as well. The top three teams and top 10 finishers at Regionals will qualify for the Conference 5A State Championships at Round Rock’s Old Settlers Park.
Sophomore Sarah Shaw will represent Lake Highlands as District 9-5A’s second place finisher.
Both runners said they are excited about the opportunity to represent the district and their high school at the meet.
