The Wildcat Club auction has gone live and is ready to receive your bids on great offerings – some of which are available only there. You can play golf with the Wildcat golf team, or you can hang with the LH soccer squad on the sidelines during a game (autographed soccer ball included). Your student and a friend can sit with the Highlandettes in the stands during a varsity home football game or serve as captains during a varsity basketball or volleyball match (they’ll even be introduced with the team over the PA).

I’m hoping to win the homemade baklava from neighborhood Greek Goddess Penne Collett, but I’m also bidding on one year of free housecleaning (though my messes are certainly minimized since I became an empty nester yesterday when the fourth Toler was deposited at college).

They also have family or pet photography by Robin Jackson, tickets to the Dallas Symphony, Dallas Museum of Art, Frisco Rough Riders, Dallas Stars, Nasher Sculpture Gardens and other cool spots. Gift certificates to Picasso’s and Mi Cocina are available, as well as an iPod Nano and a Flip video camera, which takes incredible video for a handheld (that’s what I used for soccer video posted here on the blog last spring).

Again this year, you can pay $25 to be part of Beth Hanks’ Cowbell Happy Hour, where LH moms and football supporters learn the fine art of cheering for Cats, with game videos playing and beverages flowing – I had a blast last year.

All proceeds benefit the Wildcat Club, which supports LH sports at LHHS, LHFC, LHJH and Forest Meadow. “The Wildcat Club has provided over $1 million for college scholarships and wish list items used by the athletes and coaches of ALL sports,” said Tricia White, who chairs the fundraising committee with husband, Bob. “This has been possible because of the tremendous support of the Lake Highlands community.”
