Last February we spoke with the president of Dallas Little League, Keith Smith, about the exciting baseball field makeover at Winfrey Point, which will allow Dallas Little Leaguers, including Smith’s sons, to play their games here in Dallas. Smith has said he hopes this will bring a new energy not only to the park, but also to youth baseball, in general.

There seems to have been a few stalls in construction, which was supposed to be complete in time for the spring season— that obviously didn’t happen.

This NBC 5 report cites “winter weather” as a reason for the delay. But neighbors, namely Ted Barker (who’s also upset about people walking/parking on the grass at the lake during events) and his brother, Hal, are upset about piles of dirt temporarily placed on a designated prairie grass and wildflower area.

I just left a message with the Dallas Park representative I interviewed for the original story, and I will keep you posted on what he has to say about it.
