Surely by now you’ve heard of the Baylor basketball phenom, Brittney Griner, who punched her way into the headlines by cold-cocking Texas Tech’s Jordan Barncastle in the face. Griner, heavily recruited by multiple schools before choosing to play for the Bears, was ticked about Barncastle’s foul, so – despite the refs whistling the play – she punched Barncastle square in the nose.

LHHS 2006 grad, Laura Toler, became buddies with Ashlee when they were paired by potluck, but they’re fast friends now and Laura is livid over Roberson and Barncastle’s treatment. She’s hoping the penalty will be swift and stiff for “that mean giant” that roughed up her friends. In a rare occurrence, mother and daughter agree.
