Lads try country and western dancing, tour Fort Worth Stockyards

The Lads traveled to Fort Worth yesterday to see some real longhorns at the Stockyards and get a touch of true Texas flavor. They’re still in training to referee soccer matches at Dallas Cup, but they also had time for a little fun and tourism before games begin Saturday.

They purchased western duds and headed back out last night to Red River Saloon, for some Wrangler-style boot-scootin’ and mechanical bull-riding. They were moving slowly this morning.

You can watch them referee games all this week for free at Richland College’s soccer fields beginning at 8 am Saturday, or you can go to Pizza Hut Park in Frisco (those tickets can be purchased at the stadium or via the Dallas Cup website) beginning Sunday. Teams from China, Japan, Brazil, New Zealand, Venezuela, Panama, South Africa, Costa Rica, Germany, France, Mexico, England, and all over the United States will be competing from ages 12 to 19. Opening Ceremonies begin at 5 pm Sunday at PHP.
