I hit the brakes this morning when I passed Casa Linda Plaza.

Trucks outside the theater, walls coming down, workers on the roof — could it be? Has the old theater space finally been leased? I’m afraid, however, that it’s nothing so exciting.

Clay Evans, whose SC Companies owns the theater says they are replacing the non-functional roof, leveling the floor and taking out structural walls, which will allow them to divide the theater into three retail spaces, if necessary.

“But we could also still lease it as one space,” he says.
