Last week on our Lakewood/East Dallas blog, I wrote about a couple scam alerts in the neighborhoods. This morning. Merriman Park North resident Brad Peters warns us of another possible con in our area:
"I received two strange phone calls today from someone claiming to be from TXU and then changing their story and saying that they were from Atmos Energy and that they were one big company. I’m not sure the point of their phone call but I think they wanted to get my signature on a form for e-payment but it sounded very suspicious. First, they called at 6:40 in the morning and their story was pretty fishy. I called Atmos (which is not part of TXU) and they confirmed that they did not call me this morning and that they had not changed their e-payment policy."
