When it’s too cold to play soccer outside – many thanks to ace reporter Carol Toler for the soccer updates – you know it’s going to be wicked cold this weekend. But if you can make it from the parking lot to the gym without freezing, you can still enjoy plenty of hot LH basketball and wrestling action.

The boys basketball team travels to Richardson for a key District 9-5A contest tonight. The Cats and Eagles will be battling for a playoff spot throughout the district race. District co-leaders Berkner and Skyline clash tonight over at the Spectram (BHS gym).

The girls basketball team is also in a big tussle tonight with a rare home game against RHS. The Lady Wildcats will no doubt be motivated by Tuesday’s 1-point loss to Berkner, 40-39, when they missed many opportunities to secure a win.

And the LH wrestling program, which has been more dominant than Matt Stover and the Indianapolis Colts this season, competes in the Grapevine Duals this weekend. The Grapevine Duals are annually one of the premier events in high school wrestling and are a big kickoff to the second half of the season.
