Congrats to Lake Highlands’ own Phil Dawson, who made the UIL’s All-Century football team as the third-string kicker. First string was former Texas A&M great Tony Franklin and second was former Texas great Russell Erxleben.

Dawson, also a former UT great, is currently kicking for the Cleveland Browns. Another former LH kicker, Matt Stover, is now with the Indianapolis Colts.

Dawson made the All-Century offense. You can see the All-Century defense here.

You might recall that another former LH great, Erin Aldrich, who competed in the Olympics in the high jump, made the UIL’s All-Century volleyball team. I’m not saying the voting process was unscientific, but it looks like the internet was burning up in the vicinity of Round Top and Carmine.

Voting is still open for the All-Century basketball teams. Former LH great Warren Carter is on the ballot for the boys team. (What about Josh Carter? D’Wayne Tanner?) I’m writing in Kristi Scales for the girls team.
