The Lake Highlands wrestling team scored 181.5 points to outdistance a field of 24 teams and win the Tri-State Classic on Saturday in the LH gym.  LH coach Pete Grieder spotlighted freshman Blake Lueder, who helped the team out by winning one of his matches.

"Overall we’re pretty solid from bottom to top and we had enough individual effort to get the win," Grieder said. "Everything went well, but there’s great potential for the team to reach higher goals."

The JV had a big weekend as they also dominated their competition. Helping in a big way were six freshmen who placed in the top four of their respective weight classes.

Placing first was Dylan Domizio. Placing second was Frank Ruggerburg.  Placing third were Deandre Brumfield, Deandre Neroes and Nate Villasana.  Placing fourth was Ben Laurent.

Next up is a dual meet  Friday at Highland Park.  The JV will wrestle at 6 p.m. followed by the varsity at 7 p.m.
