With a chill in the air, the stage is set for a perfect “Holiday in the Highlands” home tour this Friday. Lake Highlands Women’s League members have been working all year to select the right mix of homes, and the homeowners have been pulling out their decorating finery and family heirlooms to make your day enjoyable.

This year, you’ll visit the home of the Claybrooks at 9622 Shoreview, the Galls at 9247 Moss Haven, the Hranickys at 9511 Parkford, and the Jenkins at 9302 Timberhollow Circle (aka The 12 Days of Christmas Street). Each home has unique features and a rich history, and you’ll hear the story behind many of the special keepsakes and architectural features.

The Home Tour is the primary annual fundraiser for the LH Women’s League, and money raised provides scholarships for LHHS students and for community projects of the League. All 90 members and most of the 186 sustaining members will be there, so you are certain to see folks you know among worker-bees in the houses as well as neighborhood attendees as they oohh and aahh while touring.

The tour goes from 9:30 am to 5 pm Friday only, and you can show up at any home to purchase tickets for the day for just $12. There’s also a Holiday Market, featuring decorations and gifts for purchase, at the Highlands Oaks Church of Christ, 10805 Walnut Hill Lane between Plano Road and LBJ.

Over the last 30 years of the tour, LHWL has given away more than $1,5 million to the community in college scholarships and other projects. If you’d like to make a donation, you are invited to visit the Women’s League website here.
